Or did he fall?
At five-feet-six – one hundred and ten pounds, Queenie Magnolia Pettiford was a sight to behold. When she tore out of the house after a tiff with her husband, Arthur, she went to the country club where there was a party going on.
Queenie left the club shortly before one in the morning and invited a few friends to follow her home and continue the party. They got to the Pettiford’s residence about ten minutes after Queenie – who, as she met them at the door, was heard to exclaim the following:
"Something terrible happened. Arthur slipped and fell on the stairs. He was coming down for another drink – he still had the glass in his hand – and I think he’s dead. Oh, my goodness gracious, what ever shall I do?"
The autopsy, conducted later, concluded that Arthur had died from a wound to the head and confirmed that he had been drunk.

We are investigators trying to determine what really happened at this scene. Our first question should be, ‘Can we believe what the witness says?’ Witnesses are not always reliable. What do you think? Is what you see in the picture consistent with what Queenie says?
